Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison, and Nicholas Counties is a member of the Community Action Partnership, a national organization representing the interests of the more than 1,000 community action agencies across the country that fight poverty on the local level. If the challenges faced by low income people are addressed and they have the same opportunities enjoyed by the majority of the community, then the quality of life for the entire community is improved.

The Council is dedicated to combating poverty by offering opportunities for low-income people to achieve self-sufficiency and providing services so that each community member and family is able to reach their full potential. The Council works to serve the low income population through advocacy, service delivery and community involvement.
