Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)

The federal Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) provides essential, flexible funding that empowers Community Action Agencies like ours to design local solutions, respond to real problems, and help individuals and families build lasting pathways out of poverty.

What Does CSBG Impact?

Under CSBG, Kentucky receives a smart annual investment of $12.7 million, which works as core funding for 23 Community Action Agencies. We use this funding to assess and adapt to changing needs in every community and leverage millions more in additional funding to end poverty across Kentucky.

  • "Every recession, every time the market bubble bursts, every mass layoff, every personal tragedy, Community Action has been there to get people back on their feet and build the economy up again." - Letter from Our Board of Directors
