The Council operates a range of services and assistance programs consistent with its mission. The vast array of programs are designed to assist single parents, increase job skills, fulfill emergency needs, and decrease utility costs, among other objectives.
Applications for all programs are conducted through each of the Council's nine neighborhood and community centers. Each center has a diverse and qualified staff, equipped to serve the needs of that particular community. At the core of each center is the center manager, administrative support personnel, and child development and family support staff. Currently, the centers offer similar programs and services. Over time, however, the programs offered by the centers will be as diverse as the neighborhoods each serves. Annual community assessments and planning, along with proactive resource development, will lead to programs and services designed to meet the specific needs of the community in which the center is located.
