Seven Employees Earn CCAP Certification

Seven staff members at Community Action Council have received their Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP) credential from the national Community Action Partnership. A national professional executive development strategy, the CCAP program recognizes exceptional Community Action leaders who are helping people with low-income change their lives.

Community Action Council, based in Lexington, employs more people with the CCAP credential than any other agency nationwide.  Staff members receiving the CCAP are (pictured left to right above):

  • Shirley Bryant, Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Coordinator
  • Laura Sheffield, Health and Nutrition Director
  • Annia Royo, Assistant Director of Migrant Head Start
  • John Catron, Facilities and Transportation Manager
  • Monica Householder, Disabilities and Mental Health Manager
  • Camisha Powell, Executive Assistant to the Director
  • Leidy Borges, Director of Community Services

The CCAP program was created in 1991 to raise the profile and national awareness of the nation’s most accomplished and motivated Community Action leaders. The program draws on the knowledge and insights of hundreds of local Community Action executive directors and senior-level staff who have developed, and continue to refine, each of the steps toward recognition as a Community Action professional. All CCAPs commit themselves to the highest standards of behavior by signing the Community Action Code of Ethics.
